I know my PC is not the ultimate in speed and memory (i7-3770 3.4Ghz 8Gb RAM) but it seems like a super computer is needed to be able to load not only MPLABX but also MCC in reasonable times.
See attached screenshot, more than 3 minutes to load MPLABX V6..
